Top Ten Tuesday: Book Boyfriends

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where a new topic is given each week by the host blog and participants write up a corresponding list of ten things. Simple, fun, and great for those obsessed with lists. This week's topic is: Top Ten Characters I Would Crush On If I Were Also A Fictional Character (I know how y'all love your book boyfriends :P )!

Eeek! I could have sworn I had already written up this post, had it schedule and everything...but no! So here goes, in no particular order of course EXCEPT FOR DEXTER:

(1) Dexter from This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen - Hands down my biggest literary crush. HANDS DOWN.

(2) Rath Roiben Rye from Tithe by Holly Black - To this day he remains one of my favorite fairies.

(3) Numair from The Immortals Quartet by Tamora Pierce - Love, love, love, love, love.

(4) Alex from Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles - My favorite of the brothers...in fact, I think I'm due to reread him. :D

(5) Valek from Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder - I think I might have a type when it comes to fantasy novels. Valek is very much it. xD

(6) North Wayland from Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken - Dark, brooding wizard...yes please.

(7) Noah from Pushing the Limits - Need I say more? LOVE THIS BOY.

(8) Wes from The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen - My other favorite Dessen novel with my other favorite boy.

(9) Rhett Butler from Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell, he still makes me swoon every time I read the book.

(10) Gilbert Blythe from the Anne of Green Gables books by L.M. Montgomery...one of my first and fondest book boyfriends.

  1. Your list is AMAZING. Right of the bat, I was like DEXTER IS MY FAVORITE Sarah Dessen hero! HE's just so clever and cute! and ROIBEN made my list!!!!! I was so excited to see him on yours. He's just so darkly sexy.

Actually, I've read/know all of these boys except for Rhett Butler (I AM SUCH A NON-English literature person).

Have you read Howl's Moving Castle? Because North Wayland is A LOT like Howl the wizard. That book is more fun, cute than Brightly Woven, which is a tad darker, but it's sooo good. And Howl made my crush list.

    1. Wow, thank you! :D

I have not read Howl's Moving Castle but I added it to my list just because of your comment. I could always use more guys like North Wayland in my literary life.

  2. I haven't read as many of the books as you've listed here, but you name Valek, Rhett, and Gilbert which are seemingly a crazy combo, but not really if you think about it. There is strength, drama, brooding, teasing, get-under-your-skin and crazy dangerous on this list. LOVE IT.

    1. EXACTLY! And those are some of my favorite, obviously, traits in book boyfriends. xD

  3. Hey there! Is it weird that I'm probably the only person in the world who found Dexter from This Lullaby absolutely annoying? Anyway, I totally agree with Wes - and The Truth About Forever is my absolute Dessen favorite (although it's really hard to choose). And I have Noah from Pushing the Limits on my list, too - I think he'd be the ideal boyfriend - even with all the stuff he has to go through (or...you know...because of it)

    1. I wouldn't say weird necessarily but I would say you're the first person I've come across with that point of view. And The Truth About Forever is my second, sometimes tied with first Dessen of them all.

      AND YES! Love Noah. <3
