Review of Silence

My review of Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick is based on a hardcover copy of the book that I purchased for myself. The following review is my honest opinion of the novel.

Goodreads Summary: "The noise between Patch and Nora is gone. They've overcome the secrets riddled in Patch's dark past...bridged two irreconcilable worlds...faced heart-wrenching tests of betrayal, loyalty and trust...and all for a love that will transcend the boundary between heaven and earth. Armed with nothing but their absolute faith in one another, Patch and Nora enter a desperate fight to stop a villain who holds the power to shatter everything they've worked for—and their love—forever."

After being disappointed by Crescendo I was a little apprehensive about Silence and yet when I received some money for my birthday I knew it was still going to be a must-buy. Becca Fitzpatrick had won me over so completely with Hush, Hush that even minor frustrations with Nora's attitude and the severe lack of Patch in the sequel couldn't keep me away.

Those frustrations with Nora? Silence obliterated them. That wishy-washy, always needing to be rescued girl is gone and in her place is a pillar of strength worthy of being called a heroine. Though I couldn't in good conscience put her in the kick-ass heroine category I'm really happy with where she is going.

Severe lack of Patch? Oh hello yumminess, Silence brought my swoon-worthy fallen angel back. Though in all honesty I don't think there could ever been enough Patch in a book to complete sate me. Just saying. Anyway, as I was saying, Patch is back to kicking ass and taking prisoners. Black has never looked so sexy.

I loved the directions that this novel took with the eternal "battle" between the fallen angels, arch-angels and the Nephilim. I cannot wait to see how everything is ultimately resolved.

Despite battling total exhaustion I managed to read a little over sixty pages of this novel upon arriving home and promptly picked it up again the next morning as soon as I woke up. I'm giving Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick a five out of five stars review. It reminded me why I loved Becca Fitzpatrick's writing and has me eagerly on countdown for the fourth novel in the series, I'm a Patch junkie, what can I say?
