Review of Forever

My review of Forever by Maggie Stiefvater is based on an ARC that I won in a giveaway from Arena of The Nerd's Wife. The following review is my honest opinion of the work.

Goodreads Summary: "The thrilling conclusion to #1 bestselling Shiver trilogy from Maggie Stievater.

In Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. In Linger, they fought to be together. Now, in Forever, the stakes are even higher than before. Wolves are being hunted. Lives are being threatened. And love is harder and harder to hold on to as death comes closing in."

I felt as if all of the characters finally matured, they were all the adults that I knew they were capable of being. Even Sam, whom though I loved dearly, seemed as if he would never outgrow being a child. Which kind of gives me hope for myself because I'm a lot like him.

I really grew to love Isabel in particular and kind of wish that there would have been a bit more screen-time with her. She was a great character and from the rocky beginning with her in Shiver I would never have guessed this.

The romance between Sam and Grace is probably one of the best I've ever read. I can actually picture this couple growing up together, getting married eventually and living relatively happily ever after. Their romance felt so real to me. I just loved them.

I have read a lot of different series and never has one ended as well as Forever. And I don't mean that everyone gets a happily ever after but it's more like I feel okay leaving these characters where they are and trust that they can work out the remainder on their own. I'm okay with the curtain closing because the ending fit the story and though I'll likely wonder occasionally just what exactly is going on in Mercy Falls I'm okay with not knowing exactly, and by this I mean I'm okay with not having another book. Three was enough.

I'm giving Forever by Maggie Stiefvater a five out of five stars review. I absolutely loved this series and though I'm sad to see it come to an end I'm ultimately satisfied with the time I got to spend with these characters. I will definitely be re-reading this series again soon.
