WWW Wednesdays is hosted by Should Be Reading.
What did you recently finish reading?
Absolutely nothing. It was a super slow week for me and I just really wasn't in the mood to read. I'm hoping to finish at least a couple books before next WWW Wednesday though. Fingers crossed!
What are you currently reading?
Innocent Erendira and Other Stories by Gabriel Garcia Marquez - No further on this one, just really haven't been in the right frame of mind.
Ceremony by Leslie Marmon Silko - Again, just not in the right mood.
A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin - About two hundred pages in...trying really hard to make these last since there is no telling when the sixth one will be out.

What do you think you'll be reading next?
And All the Stars by Andrea K. Host
Magisterium by Jeff Hirsch

OMG! I am totally reading Clash of Kings too! AHHHH> Following your blog just because we have similar taste. Lol.
ReplyDeleteNo way??? Really? That is so awesome. :D
DeleteI feel like such a slouch because I've intended to read Marquez--anything by him--for years, and never have.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by planetpooks!
This is only my second go. I tried One Hundred Years of Solitude which everyone raved about and it just wasn't for me, I finished it but only just better. I'm liking this collection of short stories and novellas a lot better. :]
DeleteThank you for stopping by Typing Tiara!
Ceremony looks pretty interesting :)

It is! I hope you give it a shot. :]
DeleteBig fan of all your current reads! Marquez is probably one of my top 2-3 favorite authors of all-time. Ceremony is timeless and the Song of Fire & Ice series is wonderful and engrossing. I too hope Martin finishes the next new book soon. He's said he owes us another even after that, but Book 5 took SO long to come out. I worry, he's not getting any younger!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm liking Marquez a lot more this time around. I tried him a few years ago, One Hundred Years of Solitude, and I just felt lost. Ceremony is pretty amazing though. AND LOVE LOVE LOVE the Song of Ice and Fire series. I think it was the perfect choice for my first epic fantasy series because now I want to devour/try more! :D
DeleteI will read the Game of Thrones series next year! xD
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!
Yay! And you'll come back and tell me how much you love them? Or like? I'll accept either. ;]
DeleteLOL. Happy reading!
lol! That's true, I don't know why I was in such a rush to finish the Song of Ice and Fire series this year (I'm 16 pages into book 5... or at least I was a couple of months ago when I last looked at it.) BUT book two is totally worth getting through just to get to book three which. is. AWESOME!
ReplyDelete-Novel Reveries
OH WOW. You're really far ahead of me. xD
DeleteI'm hoping to balance it all out with the show...maybe. I hate running out of book and George R. R. Martin seems to make it really easy to do just that.
I read 100 years of solitude for a bookclub and I think that is the reason I got through it, I had to, or felt I did. It was really tough because each generation had the same darn name - super confusing! But ultimately I liked it. I will have to try the stories and I keep thinking about Love in the time of Cholera...we will see. Great books! Good luck finishing :)

YES. That confused the heck out of me. I kept flipping around in the book trying to find where I got lost. And I was reading it on my own. I think it would have been easier to read with a bookclub for the support group.
DeleteI've been thinking about Love in the Time of Cholera too. It seems to pop up everywhere.
Good idea trying to make the Song of Ice and Fire series last... I devoured them all too quickly. The upside of reading them quickly is that I caught up to the tv show seasons and I know what to expect for that.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of the other books you listed. I loved Marquez's Love in the Time of Cholera, but I was not a fan of 100 Years of Solitude, so I don't know if I'd love or hate his other works!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!

That is exactly what I was afraid of! So I'm trying to read just enough to catch up with the show [my cousin is watching so we're comparing].
DeleteI think I'll have to give that one a try because I just could not get into One Hundred Years of Solitude.
Thanks for stopping by Typing Tiara!
i read a game of thrones and clash of kings this summer (after watching the show). i might wait until after the 3rd season to read the 3rd book... i dunno yet!
ReplyDeleteWe're doing things backwards from one another then. I'm wanting to read the books then check out the show. I figured that might drag the books out so I wouldn't be without too long. :]
DeleteI still really need to read All the Stars! It's been sitting on the Kindle forever, Netgalley must hate me, haha! I look forward to seeing what you think :D Thanks for stopping by my blog this week!
ReplyDeleteYou and me both! And Netgalley...I think I'm going to need to go into the reviewer protection program and hide out for awhile...I'm so behind on review books!
DeleteLove your blog! Thank YOU for stopping by mine! :D
Oh, I LOVE the Game of Thrones books!! I wanted to make them last too, for the same reason, but then I couldn't stop reading and was done way too soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by my blog, I love the title of yours! Merry Christmas! :)
I have a feeling I'm going to hit that point soon. I've been told the third book is impossible to put down.
DeleteThank you! Merry Christmas to you too! :D
Gabriel Garcia Marquez is one of my favorite author, I'm sorry you haven't been in the right frame of mind... :(

DeleteThanks for the recs!
I'm about 1/2 way through Clash of Kings myself...one of these days I'll sit myself down and finish it as I really do enjoy the series.
ReplyDeleteMy WWW Wednesday is here.
Wow, really? You've got me beat. I just hit the three hundred page mark a little bit ago. Seriously loving the series though. I hope you're able to pick your copy up and finish it soon. :]
DeleteGreat books this week. I haven't read any of The Game of Thrones series, do have the first on my TBR list, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Love the cover of Magisterium, will have to check it out. Thanks for stopping by my WWW this week.

I hope you get to read it soon! Its a really awesome book. :]
DeleteOooh, someone just gave me Magisterium, which wasn't on my radar at all. LMK if you like it!
ReplyDeleteWill do! I'm hoping to be able to start it fairly soon. :]
DeleteI really need to make an effort to read the George RR Martin books. I've had the first one on my shelf for almost 2 years now and I really think I'd enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteYou really should, they're great books! :]
