Review of The Lost Prince

Goodreads Summary: "Don’t look at Them. Never let Them know you can see Them.

That is Ethan Chase’s unbreakable rule. Until the fey he avoids at all costs—including his reputation—begin to disappear, and Ethan is attacked. Now he must change the rules to protect his family. To save a girl he never thought he’s dare to fall for.

Ethan thought he had protected himself from his older sister’s world—the land of Faery. His previous time in the Iron Realm left him with nothing but fear and disgust for the world Meghan Chase has made her home, a land of myths and talking cats, of magic and seductive enemies. But when destiny comes for Ethan, there is no escape from a danger long, long forgotten.

My name is Ethan Chase. And I may not live to see my eighteenth birthday.
"
Until I got swept up by this novel I hadn't realized how much I missed the Nevernever and Julie Kagawa's brilliance.

Remember that cute little boy that we were introduced to by the courageous and crazy Meghan Chase? He's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack. And did I mention that he's all grown up? Because he is. And a bad boy to boot. Bad boy, fey, and written by the fantabulous Julie Kagawa? People, this is like the friggen' trifecta of awesome.

Ethan is just...wow. He's tough, he can kick serious butt [literally!] and he might have weaponry training. Be still my heart! I absolutely loved him which is saying a lot because I was hesitant to drift back into the Nevernever with anyone but my favorite threesome. And then there is Kenzie. ADORABLE. I wish I had half this girl's pep. And despite her crazy cheery demeanor she never once tries your nerves. Perfect balance really. And Keirran. Just yum. YUM YUM YUM. I'd stroll through the Nevernever with him any day.

I was really blown away by the plot in this one. I mean, I loved the original Iron Fey novels and I doubt that they will ever be topped in terms of amazingness as they did in fact have it all. So instead of competing with her own work Julie Kagawa took her readers into new territory that for those clever enough might recognize certain signs from previous works. And, you know, synopsis' are tricky little foreshadowing critters. Curious? You'll have to give it a read. I'm not spilling any secrets. ;]

For those of you that are curious, and dying to know [I know I was!], I'll just say that we do in fact journey to the land of Faery otherwise known as the Nevernever so you never know who you might meet up with there. And, you know, the synopsis even mentions talking cats. So you might just get a few cameos by a few of your favorite fey.

And WOW, you guys have no idea how hard it was not to give anything away. There are so many amazingly awesome aspects of this novel  and I can't wait for you guys to discover all of them and come back for a good old-fashioned gushing session, because as predicated The Lost Prince is totally gush-worthy and definitely a credit to its author.
