Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish Confessions

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where a new topic is given each week by the host blog and participants write up a corresponding list of ten things. Simple, fun, and great for those obsessed with lists. This week's topic is: Top Ten Bookish Confessions (Anything! You dog ear, you hated a book  but said you loved it, you have $500 library fines...anything goes!)

So hard to think of something!

Um.

I guess the biggest thing I'm guilty of when it comes to books is hoarding them. I buy tons of them and though I do devour books by the pile I never seem to break even. The piles just grow and grow and grow. I have given a few away but never enough to make a real dent. I have TONS of books. You guys seriously wouldn't believe how many books. And I just can't bear to part with them. I deliberate for like ever before I send one of my babies off to a new home. It's bad.

REALLY BAD.

Do I feel guilty?

YES.

Am I going to stop any time soon?

HELL NO. ;]

Want proof? Here are some semi-recent pictures of my TBR shelves/stacks/boxes: TBR PILE OF DOOM!

Though, looking at my shelves now they hardly do justice...I'm torn between an odd sense of pride over this and shame.

    1. LOL. It is kind of hilarious. But it sure does feel like its a TBR pile of doom a lot of the time. A never-ending one at that.

Thanks for confessing, I love knowing that I'm not alone. :]

    1. I do! And you have it worse than I do. I guess that is something to be thankful for, on my end anyway. LOL.

  3. That is exactly it. A bad case of being unable to say no. Its really hard when its by an author you love, a book that has been raved about or part of a series.

  4. I don't have this problem, but with WISH I DID! Because of all the moving in my life I have lost my ability to buy books with abandon and it's so fun to do sometimes. I'm constantly all, omg should I buy it?? I'll just get it from the library, gah!

At least you always have plenty to read :D And adorable site!

    1. That must be incredibly tough. I'm horribly attached to my collection and just glancing around I can see what a pain it will be for my boyfriend and I to move out. [Sh! Don't tell him I admitted that!] Hopefully someday your moving constantly situation will settle itself and you can have the book collection that you have always dreamed of. :]

      Thank you! <3

  6. I admit to the VERY SAME THING!

Everytime I look at my bookshelves and I realize how many books there that I bought and just haven't gotten around too... it's sort of embarrassing. But it doesn't stop me from buying new ones.

And ebooks are even worse! because they don't take up physical space I just sort of... collect? them without even realizing it. I can spend an entire paycheck without blinking on ebooks. And then I don't read them because I have so many other books. :P

LOVE the pictures of your To read pile.

I think we should all belong to book hoarders anonymous :P

    1. Yay, I'm not alone!

I feel the same way. And its worse when I have someone come over and they see the shelves and I have to eventually admit that I haven't read any of those yet. Such looks!

My ebooks seem to add up more from the freebies, I just keep grabbing those and occasionally the super on sale books and I just forget they are even there. Its horrible! And like you, I don't read them because I have all of the physical ones staring me in the face.

      Thank you!

We should. But we won't. xD
