Wishing on Wednesday

Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready
Goodreads Summary: "Love ties them together. Death can't tear them apart.

Best. Birthday. Ever. At least, it was supposed to be. With Logan's band playing a critical gig and Aura's plans for an intimate after-party, Aura knows it will be the most memorable night of her boyfriend's life. She never thought it would be his last.

Logan's sudden death leaves Aura devastated. He's gone.

Well, sort of.

Like everyone born after the Shift, Aura can see and hear ghosts. This mysterious ability has always been annoying, and Aura had wanted nothing more than to figure out why the Shift happened so she can undo it. But not with Logan's violet-hued spirit still hanging around. Because dead Logan is almost as real as ever. Almost.

It doesn't help that Aura's new friend Zachary is so understanding—and so very alive. His support means more to Aura than she cares to admit.

As Aura's relationships with the dead and the living grow ever complicated, so do her feelings for Logan and Zachary. Each holds a piece of Aura's heart...and clues to the secret of the Shift."

I keep seeing this book everywhere, I've been brainwashed into wanting to read it. Their fault, not mine. Okay, okay, okay. So the cover caught my eye and the summary caught my attention. Either way this book is everywhere (along with the sequel) and it's made my must read list.

Nightshade by Andrea Cremer
Goodreads Summary: "Calla Tor has always known her destiny: After graduating from the Mountain School, she'll be the mate of sexy alpha wolf Ren Laroche and fight with him, side by side, ruling their pack and guarding sacred sites for the Keepers.

But when she violates her masters' laws by saving a beautiful human boy out for a hike, Calla begins to question her fate, her existence, and the very essence of the world she has known. By following her heart, she might lose everything— including her own life. Is forbidden love worth the ultimate sacrifice?"

This book has been on my wish list for ages. Which I didn't realize until everyone around me started excitedly talking about the sequel which threw me for a loop because it seemed like this one had only just barely come out. The books have truly addled my brain as I have no sense of time any longer. I do however have a strong sense of longing to read this book.

Die for Me by Amy Plum
Goodreads Summary: "My life had always been blissfully, wonderfully normal. But it only took one moment to change everything.

Suddenly, my sister, Georgia, and I were orphans. We put our lives into storage and moved to Paris to live with my grandparents. And I knew my shattered heart, my shattered life, would never feel normal again. Then I met Vincent.

Mysterious, sexy, and unnervingly charming, Vincent Delacroix appeared out of nowhere and swept me off my feet. Just like that, I was in danger of losing my heart all over again. But I was ready to let it happen.

Of course, nothing is ever that easy. Because Vincent is no normal human. He has a terrifying destiny, one that puts his life at risk every day. He also has enemies . . . immortal, murderous enemies who are determined to destroy him and all of his kind.

While I'm fighting to piece together the remnants of my life, can I risk putting my heart—as well as my life and my family's—in jeopardy for a chance at love?

Again with the love at first sight. This is another book that I've been seeing popping up everywhere, including zillions of chances to win it on various blogs. First it was just cover love or lust as the case may be than someone mentioned that the revenants were zombies. ZOMBIES!?! OMGWTFBBQ?! I was a slow convert to those creatures, my boyfriend their most adamant lover. Than I read The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan and discovered the true awesome-ness of zombie tales. Whether or not these revenants are zombies or even zombie-like I look forward to someday getting my hands on this book and discovering it for myself. :D

Divergent by Veronica Roth
Goodreads Summary: "In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles to determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

Debut author Veronica Roth bursts onto the literary scene with the first book in the Divergent series—dystopian thrillers filled with electrifying decisions, heartbreaking betrayals, stunning consequences, and unexpected romance."

You might be wondering why I'm wishing for four books this week instead of the typical three. It's all The Story Queen's fault   for reminding me of how EPIC this book is. I mean seriously, I haven't seen a single bad review for it. AND IT'S DYSTOPIAN which is a genre I am totally loving, so how could I not want it?

What books are topping your Wish Lists these days? Let me know, I love hearing about new books.

  2. I'll get you back one of these days. *shakes fist menacingly*

At least Divergent sounds worth going to the poorhouse for...which is where I'll be taking up permenant residence when I buy it. Do they even have poorhouses any more?

And I'll let you know my team the second I get ahold of a copy.

Oh goody sounds as though you'll be joining me in the non-existant poorhouse. At least we'll have the books to keep us company. xD
