WWW Wednesday [14]

WWW Wednesdays is hosted by Should Be Reading.

What did you recently finish reading?

Empowered, Volume 1 (Empowered, #1)PantomimeThe Pleasure Chest (Harlequin Blaze #281)The Walking Dead, Book FiveA Storm of Swords (A Song of Ice and Fire, #3)

Empowered: Volume One by Adam Warren - Four stars! I really really enjoyed this...so much that I read the whole thing in one sitting...while I should have been sleeping since I had to get up at five in the morning for school. Can't wait to get the second volume! :D
Pantomime by Laura Lam - A solid three stars. I liked it but didn't love it.
The Pleasure Chest by Jule McBride - Two stars. I cannot believe how cheesy this was...even for a Harlequin novel.
The Walking Dead, Volume Five by Robert Kirkman - Four stars! Easily my favorite volume of the lot.
A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin - Five stars! I couldn't believe half the stunts Martin pulled in this one...

What are you currently reading?

Civil War Hospital SketchesA Feast for Crows (A Song of Ice and Fire, #4)Alice in Wonderland (Norton Critical Editions)
Civil War Hospital Sketches by Louisa May Alcott - Nothing like Little Women, her most popular novel, but still recognizably Alcott. Love her voice.
A Feast For Crows by George R.R. Martin - So different from the first three! I'm almost two hundred pages into this one and still not entirely sure how I feel about it.
Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll - LOVE. Was there ever any doubt?

What are you planning on reading next?

Witch ChildThe Way We Fall (Fallen World, #1)

Witch Child by Celia Rees
The Way We Fall by Megan Crewe

  1. I felt the same way about A Feast For Crows. I'm reminded how well the titles represent the books!
The Way We Fall is a book that's been on my to read list for ages, but I never purchased it!

    1. They really do. I'm almost three hundred pages into A Feast For Crows and liking it a little better, I feel almost as if Martin is giving us a backstage look. We're normally with the key players and now we're seeing what else is going on. Its kind of interesting.

I was lucky enough to win a copy so its just sat on my TBR pile for entirely too long.

  2. I really need to read ASOIAF series faster! Or just stop getting distracted by other books. Also I read Witch Child when I was younger and LOVED it. I hope you enjoy it too :)

    1. I feel like I need to slow down! I thought the fifth one was due out in mass market paperback within the next month or so but out of nowhere the date got pushed back to the END of OCTOBER. And I'm about a third of the way through the fourth one so I'm trying really hard to hit the break. [Also, failing miserably at it.]

That is the first I've heard of Witch Child, so I'm glad to know that someone loved it. I can't believe I didn't read it when I was younger because it sounds exactly like something I would have picked up.

      Thanks for stopping by!
