Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
where a new topic is given each week by the host blog and participants
write up a corresponding list of ten things. Simple, fun, and great for
those obsessed with lists. This week's topic is: Top Ten Authors That I'd Put On My Auto-Buy List (basically an auto-buy
list is no questions asked..you love this author so much that no matter
what they wrote next you'd buy regardless of genre or subject matter)!
(1) Sarah Dessen - Hands down favorite author EVER. 'Nough said.
(2) Stephanie Perkins - SO ADORABLE. I just love her writing style.
(3) Katie McGarry - PtL was AMAZING. I cannot wait to read more by her.
(4) Maria V. Snyder - LOVED THE STUDY SERIES. And now everything she has written is on my wishlist. MUST READ IT ALL.
(5) Tamora Pierce - The woman who got me into fantasy. Of course everything she writes is a must buy.
(6) David Levithan - GENIUS. This man is a GENIUS. If I don't own it than I can guarantee its on my wishlist.
(7) Shannon Hale - I love this woman's writing style. I've read...six books by her now, the only ones I haven't yet gone near are her Austen books and the six I've already read have convinced me that she can pretty much do no wrong.
(8) Ellen Hopkins - Two books. I have read TWO books by her and already everything else she has written is on my wishlist. I WILL BUY THEM ALL. And every time I hear something new is coming out from her? Automatic add.
(9) Julie Kagawa - Her name on a book cover is enough for me. I mean, I love the fey so reading her Iron Fey books for me is a no brainer. But I was pretty much over vampires but seeing her name on The Immortal Rules was enough to change my mind. HAD TO GET IT. Her name is magic.
(10) Deb Caletti - Again with the automatic add. As soon as I see a new title pop up I add it to my wishlist. I haven't LOVED everything she has written but so much of it has been just right...she's definitely a go to contemporary author for me.
Looking back over this list...I'm kind of amazed by how many of these authors are mainly contemporary writers. I mean there are what, six contemporary authors to four fantasy? OHEMGEE ALLI FINALLY CONVERTED ME. xD
Oh my gosh, I can't believe I forgot so many of the authors you included! No wonder I keep running out of space on my shelves, I have way too many autobuy authors!
ReplyDeleteI always feel the same way when I go back over all of the lists. [:

Oh my gosh, I totally should have included Katie McGarry! I also loved PtL. I cannot wait to read Dare You To.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Shannon Hale is fricking amazing. My favorite by her is Book of a Thousand Days, I think, but there is still a lot that I haven't read.
I can't either! I'm sure its going to be just as awesome.
DeleteThat's one of the few that I have yet to read but its on my list!
Stephanie Perkins is THE Author! She is so great, made me see the English, French, and Canadians in a whole new way! (Remember the canadian flag, lol) She is ruling all the lists, including mine. Great picks!
