WWW Wednesday [9]

WWW Wednesdays is hosted by Should Be Reading

What did you recently finish reading?

From What I Remember by Stacy Kramer and Valerie Thomas - Four stars! Crazy cute contemporary. :]
Innocent Erendira and Other Stories by Gabriel Garcia Marquez - Three stars! Some of the stories seriously creeped me out but overall I liked it.
Ceremony by Leslie Marmon Silko - Four stars! As soon as I picked it back up I wondered why I ever set it down. I can't wait to read more from her.

What are you currently reading?

A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin - A little over six hundred pages in, I had planned on being finished with it by now but New Years celebrations killed that notion quick. xD
Magisterium by Jeff Hirsch - Slow going. I'm just not as into this one as I had hoped I would be.
To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf - I was supposed to read this one back in Spring 2012 for school and never did...and since its such a thin volume it seemed like an excellent choice for my first classic of the year.

What do you think you'll be reading next?
 No idea whatsoever.

  1. I have vowed that I will read Clash of Kings this year. I've started it a few times but always end up putting it down. That must end as I do love the world! I also really like From What I Remember such a fun read.

  2. Oh holidays, they always get the way of reading don't they! I got stuck half way through Clash of Kings when I had to return it to the library, so one of these days I'll have to finish it!

    1. They really do! You'd think that you'd have all the time in the world to read...but alas, things always come up. Namely, friends and family.

See! That is why I so seldom borrow books from the library any more. That ALWAYS happens to me.

  4. Hi Ash, I've haven't read those books yet, I should check them out. I've only read A Game of Thrones. But I guess I'll settle for the tv series as the books are quite long! :P

Thanks for reading my post :)

You should! I loved Game of Thrones and the sequel is equally fascinating. Though, you're right, the books are crazy long.

    1. Honestly? I'm not liking it so much right now. The beginning didn't really catch my attention and the plots a bit on the predictable side. Sigh. :/

And YAY for A Clash of Kings! :D

    1. I'm really enjoying it but I did love A Game of Thrones. Brilliant! It really was a perfect choice for my first venture into epic fantasy. :]

    1. It doesn't happen very often. Lol. Kind of a fluke this time around but I AM trying to mix them better. And yay! I'm thrilled to have inspired you.

That's the next fantasy series on my to do list, I'll be starting it once I catch up on Song of Ice and Fire. :]

    2. Me too! Its one of my favorites to participate in. :]

I try to mix up my genres, its really a hit/miss kind of thing. I'm such a moody reader.

You should give it a try! I absolutely loved A Game of Thrones.

    1. I really do. It doesn't happen too very often though I am trying to diversify a bit and not just read all in the same genre.

  11. 'No idea whatsoever.' I love when that happens - I had that happen the other day. I was able to just stand in front of my book shelves and see what book spoke to me. It's nice when I don't 'have' to read something and can just go with whatever appeals to me at the time.

  15. Even though I much prefer UK settings, I do try to mix genres and that's one reason I find your lists interesting! Still haven't managed to put Marquez on my list, though.

    1. Aw, thanks! I do try and mix it up a bit though it doesn't always work out that way. I'm happiest with a pile of fantasy novels. xD

And Marquez is a tough one. I'd recommend trying a collection of short stories rather than a novel, might be easier to jump into.
