Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
where a new topic is given each week by the host blog and participants
write up a corresponding list of ten things. Simple, fun, and great for
those obsessed with lists. This week's topic is: Top Ten 2013 Debuts I'm Looking Forward To!
Three of these, Splintered, Broken and Pantomime, I'm lucky enough to have early release copies of courtesy of Netgalley and their publisher but that doesn't make me any less psyched to read them! The debuts pictured above are a mix of books that I've discovered on my own and am dying to read and books that I skimmed the Debut List to discover...and now I want to read them all! Surprisingly enough both contemporaries on there are books that I found skimming through Goodreads or Amazon on my own...not books that were recommended to me. Ohemgee I like contemporary! :o
You picked contemps all on your own?! I think I may faint! Now I've heard not so good things about Uses For Boys, but I am going to wait until I read some more reviews until I make up my mind on it for sure.
ReplyDeleteStrands of Bronze and Gold and City of a Thousand Dolls were on my list and I bumped them for 2 others, so they are 11 and 12 on my list...LOL.
I did! I'm all grown-ish up now. LOL. I think I might have even read more contemps so far in 2013 than fantasy! LE GASP!
DeleteI've heard the same about Uses for Boys, I'm hoping its just a fluke. Maybe, hopefully.
Well, now I have to dash over to your list to see what bumped them! xD
Splintered is on my list too! :) My TTT list: http://aliceinreaderland.wordpress.com/2013/01/14/debuts/

Yay! I actually just read it a few days ago and LOVED it. Totally brilliant debut. :]
DeleteHi! New follower here, and I love your blog.
ReplyDeleteA few of your top ten Tuesday are on my list too. 2013 is going to be such a great year for books. I hope you get to read them all!
Thank you for following! I'm pretty fond of Typing Tiara myself. ;]
DeleteI definitely agree. I hope you do too!
Great list! SPLINTERED was a great book (2 hot guys AND cannibalistic flowers), and I make grabby hands every time someone mentions CITY OF A THOUSAND DOLLS.

It was a great book! I just read it a few days ago, or maybe last week, and I was insanely impressed. I've been recommending it to everyone I see...and in stores. xD
DeleteThere are several here that I am anxious to read, but I have to say that Uses for Boys is the read that I am most anticipating out of these. I have read some mixed reviews, but it seems like those who have not enjoyed it are those who struggle with the emotional content. I love a read that can make me think and feel.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read *too* many of the reviews, because I was afraid of getting spoilers...so I've only glanced over the number rating. Its a relief to know that the majority are regarding the emotional content and not the book itself. :]
DeleteThank you for sharing!
