Wishing and hoping, and thinking and praying...
Goodreads Summary: "Before Peter Pan belonged to Wendy, he belonged to the girl with the crow feather in her hair. . . .
Fifteen-year-old Tiger Lily doesn't believe in love stories or happy endings. Then she meets the alluring teenage Peter Pan in the forbidden woods of Neverland and immediately falls under his spell.
Peter is unlike anyone she's ever known. Impetuous and brave, he both scares and enthralls her. As the leader of the Lost Boys, the most fearsome of Neverland's inhabitants, Peter is an unthinkable match for Tiger Lily. Soon, she is risking everything—her family, her future—to be with him. When she is faced with marriage to a terrible man in her own tribe, she must choose between the life she's always known and running away to an uncertain future with Peter.
With enemies threatening to tear them apart, the lovers seem doomed. But it's the arrival of Wendy Darling, an English girl who's everything Tiger Lily is not, that leads Tiger Lily to discover that the most dangerous enemies can live inside even the most loyal and loving heart.
From the New York Times bestselling author of Peaches comes a magical and bewitching story of the romance between a fearless heroine and the boy who wouldn't grow up."
Just when you think its impossible for me to wish for any book coming out in the NEAR future...dun, dun, dun.
I cannot believe I am about to admit this, especially since my bestie reads this and Peter Pan is one of her absolute favorite books EVER, but I have never read Peter Pan. I've watched the Disney version and I watched Finding Neverland but that is about as close as I've come...I even own a copy, a really pretty copy of the book, but still it remains on my TBR Pile...though it is on the list for this summer as a must read...and its because of this book. I want this book. This book sounds amazing. Like beyond amazing amazing. And it makes me kind of glad that I've never read Peter Pan because that way I can't go in with any preconceptions which I think is always a good thing. And this book sounds SO GOOD I would hate to have it tainted. SO YES. I'm wishing, and again with the wishing hard.
I can't wait for this one either!!! Sounds so good!
ReplyDeleteI agree, and love those shoes in your picture. :]
ReplyDeleteI am seriously SO relieved that I'm not the only one that actually hasn't read Peter Pan. I've seen the movie and everything, but never actually read the book [and to be honest- probably won't either, 'cuz I don't like old books =p]. But I'm actually looking forward to this one! It looks pretty fantastic, and hopefully we'll both be able to understand this pretty well, without having actually read the original Peter Pan.
ReplyDeleteGreat pick, Ash! =)

I have Peter Pan sitting on my shelf but no idea if I'll get to it any time soon. I'm hoping to and I keep telling myself that I can't read any retellings of Peter Pan until I do...but I have no will power whatsoever so who knows. LOL.
ReplyDeleteThank you! :]
