Review of Eternal Eden

My review of Eternal Eden by Nicole Williams is based on an e-book copy of the book that I received courtesy of a Kindle lending site. The following review is my own opinion.

*Review May Contain Minor Spoilers*

Goodreads Summary: "College sophomore Bryn Dawson is a self-proclaimed poster child for normal. However, the day William Hayward enters her life, normalcy is the last thing Bryn will be able to count on if she wants to be with him. Too mysterious and appealing to be good for a girl, Bryn feels drawn to him in a way that seems out of her control—as if fate is orchestrating it.

Despite every red flag and warning siren going off in her head telling her not to, Bryn falls hard for William, knowing he’s categorically different from anyone she’s ever met. She never imagined how right she was. When William takes her deeper into the rabbit hole of his world, Bryn must decide just how much she is willing to sacrifice to be with him, knowing no matter what, fate always finds a way to have the last laugh.

Spinning a new twist on star-crossed lovers, Eternal Eden will put Bryn through a gauntlet of turmoil, challenging her to find the power within herself to become the heroine in her own story. "

When I first started Eternal Eden I did not think I was going to like it. In fact I put it down after only being a little bit into the story to go on to two or three other books. Finally, when my loan was just about to expire, I came back to it. I'm so glad I gave it another shot.

The character of Bryn Dawson particularly worried me because I love a strong heroine and it didn't seem as though she was going to fulfill my desired role for her. In fact she was a big part of the reason why I found myself putting the book down. She frustrated me to no end. She had had a rough past and seemed on the verge of a complete mental breakdown. Not exactly the right foundation for the kind of kick-butt heroine I was used to reading. However she eventually did start to come through for me proving that she was capable of acting on her own without waiting for her hero to act on her behalf. Without falling apart and with her snarky wit, so hurray for Bryn!

At it’s heart Eternal Eden is a love story. And a good one at that. The romance totally put me in the mind of Mike and Angel from Nicole Luiken's Violet Eyes, one of my all time favorite books. This would be score number one. For readers who adored that book I would totally recommend you give this one a try, you'll find that they are similar yet completely different at the same time.

My favorite character in this book? The comic relief known as Patrick. But this is another one of those books were I really found myself falling for the cast, I could see them, feel them and wanted to know what happened to them.

Unfortunatly I can't tell you a lot of what made this book so great for me without giving away a lot of the twists and turns that made it such a great read for me.

I'm giving Eternal Eden by Nicole Williams a four star out of five stars review and already wishing that I could get my hands on the sequel. Yes, you heard me right, sequel. The plot was interesting, the romance sweet, and the book as a whole an overall great read.

On a side note, I love the cover for this book; it’s what made me want to read it in the first place.
